What is Target Audience?
Target Audience the specific group that the product is targeted to. For example, Teletubbies target audience is toddlers. This determines the demographic of who is going to be interested, or even play our game.
Why is Target Audience important?
When designing any product, including games, it is crucial to know who is going to use the product the most, it doesn't mean that people outside of this won't use it, but they just wouldn't use it as much as the target audience. It's important to know who you are designing the product for because then you can tender it towards something that they would enjoy, for example, if the product is for children, you would more likely use bright colours and animated imagery of tv characters etc. as apposed to dark colours and imagery that involves violence etc.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I have now learnt more about who our target audience is and how this will allow us to tailor our game towards them. This is important as it will not only help us in this project, but also in the future when it comes to deciding the different factors for games.
