Games are not games without rules. Rules create challenges, a goal to win. They create gameplay, they tell you how to play and win. Rules allow for the player to come up with some sort of strategy, the best way that they know to win the game. The strategy can depend on the complexity of the game.

Naughts and Crosses

This game is very basic and so does not contain much complexity therefore the strategy required is very limited. The game has a limited amount of rules and options for the player and so the challenge and goals behind the game are basic easy. You can view the whole post about this game here.

Squares

Squares is a step up from naughts and crosses and therefore becomes slightly more complex. However the rules and options that the player has are still limited and don't require a lengthy strategy to win. It features a larger grid and takes a longer time to win but that doesn't extend the length of time required to meet the win condition.

Werewolves

This game is a larger step up from squares and naughts and crosses, with more complex rules and challenges. It requires the players to have different strategies depending on the card they receive. For example, a wolf would plan their game differently to the townsfolk.

My Game

In my game, I'd like to have a complex but easy to understand set of rules and win conditions that allow players to find it fun, and then also master the game easily.
