Foley sound is when you reproduce everyday sounds and record them for production purposes. They can be used for films, games, animations and basically anything that requires audio. It can greatly enhance the quality of the media product as, if done perfectly, can make it sound as if the audio was recorded naturally as opposed to being added afterwards.

The task required us to identify the sound that the object made and connect it to one of the pictures. For example, the garden gloves sounded most like elephants ears flapping in the wind. (video below)

The clips and belt sounded like a horse galloping, the stuffing and tinsel sounded like walking through snow, the tent pegs like a ticking clock, the tub of stones like a rattlesnake, the celery like a nose being broken, the towel like a heartbeat, the scissors and flipper like a sword coming out of its sheaf, the pasta like bones breaking, and tin foil like a fire crackling.

In conclusion, I have learnt how there are many different objects you can use to create key sounds within a game, film etc. and you can combine different objects to create one sound. This task will allow me to take inspiration from these sounds and find objects to use as sound effects in my game.
