I learnt how to use the shape tool to create shapes with different outline thickness and fill colours. I then used that skill to attempt to start recreating the robot using the "pathfinder". The "pathfinder" tool allows you to position shapes together and stamp out areas of a shape using another. For example, the center of the robot is made using a rounded rectangle and then I positioned a square on top and used the tool to cut out the central hole.

Next we looked at the three different drawing tools, the "pen" tool, the "pencil" tool, and the "paintbrush" tool. Each tool is very different from each other. All of the tools can be manipulated using the direct selection tool (white arrow). The pen tool works upon a point system. You click each time to create a point, holding the mouse button down when doing so will allow you to drag and create curves.
The pencil tool is totally different, it will allow you to freely draw in any way, shape or form and it will convert it into a shape using the point system. You can then manipulate it like any of the other tools.
The paintbrush tool is very different but contains similar features to the pencil tool. You draw freehand with the paintbrush tool but you have much more design controls, you can change the type of brush you use to create artistic designs such as my car tire skid marks in the bottom right of the image.
I might use this piece of software when creating my animation if I decide that I need more tools to create the different frames.
