Today I have created a second level design and have started working on the sprites. So far I have created a version of my main character and converted my Photoshop tilemap onto Piskel which is an online tool I am going to use going forward.

I have used the tools within Piskel's editor to create the main character and have imported the previous tilemap into Piskel in order to further develop it. This is the first time I have used Piskel for a project and so I had to completely learn the software and so any errors came up early due to not knowing how to use certain tools. For example I didn't know how to use the mirroring tool prior to this lesson and so by using that I was able to make even shapes to use for my main character.
I think the main character turned out well for the first version but with room for improvements. I will develop this sprite further when I feel necessary and hope to ensure that it sticks to my original idea.
I think I have definitely learnt that Piskel is a much simpler tool compared to Photoshop for smaller projects and for short time frames. I think that now I have learnt how to use Piskel I will be able to complete the project within the time frame.
