My Google Doodle will be linked to New Years Eve and my ideas for the doodle is to possibly have a fireworks display animation that creates the word Google in the sky. The game would also be linked to fireworks and the overall New Years celebrations.
New Years Eve in England contains big celebrations across the country leading up to midnight, where Big Ben chimes and a big firework display occurs for several minutes. Around 250,000 people gathered in 2010 to see this display where the fireworks, for the first time, were set to a musical soundtrack. The celebrations also continue into 1st January with the annual New Year's Day Parade. In 2011, the "parade involved more than 10,000 musicians, cheerleaders and performers." (Wikipedia, 2018)

Interestingly, last years Google Doodle for New Year's Eve didn't reach the UK, however it did reach most of the rest of the world.

In 2016, Google shared the New Year's Eve doodle with the UK as well as the majority of other countries around the world.
My Doodle
The doodle would be published on the 31st December as that is the day in which New Years Eve is celebrated around the world.
"In many countries, New Year's Eve is celebrated at evening social gatherings, where many people dance, eat, drink alcoholic beverages, and watch or light fireworks to mark the new year." (Wikipedia, 2018) and so I could start the animation with a scene of people celebrating and then out the window there would be a firework display with Google's logo being produced with the fireworks.
Other countries celebrate New Years Eve differently and so to avoid confusion, my Doodle would be mainly aimed at the UK however other countries who celebrate the same or in similar ways may also receive the doodle.
My Game
For the game, I had the idea of having to collect the fireworks before midnight whilst killing some form of enemy along the way and if you manage to collect them all by the end it will show the animation.
The game could possibly include a final boss which might have a special item that triggers the end scene but could easily be removed if the game takes too long to create otherwise.

How will this research help me to create my final product?
By completing research into previous doodles about the same topic as my idea allows me to take inspiration and use it to develop my final product.
